Birch, trees

Birch please trees are simply amazing. They are a typically rather short-lived pioneer species widespread in the Northern Hemisphere, particularly in northern areas of temperate climates and in boreal climates. Birchwood, the wood of the birch, is used for a wide range of purposes1.

Birch adventure

Birch is one of my favorite trees. They are a resilient pioneer species; the first to colonize barren environments, and to repopulate previously biodiverse steady-state ecosystems that have been disrupted by natural disasters such as wildfire, flood, mudslide, lava flow, or a climate-related extinction2.
